I often skip breakfast just because I'm not hungry first thing in the morning, and then I get busy and "forget". Then by lunchtime I'm ravenous. The days I remember to make a green smoothie in the morning I feel so much better. I think I'm going to enjoy this exercise.

I have never had a dollop of jam on oatmeal, but that sounds quite yummy. I think you just decided tomorrow's breakfast for me. :)

Mushrooms are probably my actual favorite food ever so this question makes me very sad. :p I would probably soak dried mushrooms to make a stock and use that for the liquid called for in the recipe. I like the idea to grind up the dried mushrooms that I saw above.

Nice! I think I need a big bowl of clam chowder now. It would be so fun to go to a fancy dinner with important people like this!

A souffle in a slow cooker just seems wrong! I do love my slow cooker for chili and pulled pork, and I'll have to try making my apple butter in it soon.

Yum, I've been wanting to try a no noodle vegetable lasagna with eggplant slices. I cut zucchini, squash and carrots into spaghetti thickness "noodles" and cook them slowly in a little bit of broth, sort of like risotto. Then add a bit of cream, parmesan, salt and pepper. Way to make vegetables unhealthy, right?! But so delicious and comforting.

They aren't on this flowchart, probably because they're too rare, but I recently became acquainted with Pink Pearl apples and they are my new favorite. I made them into tarts to showcase their beautiful color. Also, I like Gravenstein just for the name (perfect name for Halloween), and Fuji has always been my favorite eating apple.

My vegetable peelers and can openers are two things that rarely go in the dishwasher in my kitchen. I quickly rinse them with soapy warm water, dry, and put back in the drawer. I haven't had that sticky residue happen, but maybe that's because I don't often run it through the washer.

I love my OXO peeler. I agree with Brooklynnina, other peelers feel and function inferior. I used a swiss peeler like the Kuhn Rikon pictured in school and I was constantly fighting with it (which made for bad times on my knife cut tests).

When I don't want to wait for a huge pot of water to boil, I put about 2 inches of water in a pot with a steamer basket. Once it is boiling I throw in the corn, cover, and cook for 4 minutes. Like many veggies, I like my corn on the firmer side. Most of the time I'll eat it as is, but sometimes I just "need" that pat of butter and sprinkling of salt! Yum.

I use cheese cloth for spice packets. I cut a square of cheesecloth, place my spices in the middle and tie it into a ball.

I think it tastes better than store bought. You can choose how much molasses you want and alter the flavor of it! :)
