So true! All of my roasted veggies go on my old, rusty jelly roll pan. They turn out the best. 400 degrees F for about 30 minutes. Perfect!

Just scored an entire bowl FULL of fresh turkish figs today, straight from my grandmothers abundant fig tree! Seriously, it is the biggest bowl of happiness since a bowl of cherries!

They are the most perfect and plump purple jewels I have seen in my life. I'm contemplating what I should do with them other than tossing them in salads with gorgonzola or goat cheese, mixing them into oatmeal, cottage cheese, or yogurt. A few weeks ago I concocted a great pizza consisting of: proiscutto, fresh figs, gorgonzola, red onion, mozzarella, and rosemary. I may have added some walnuts too but I can't remember. I hope to incorporate them into some baked good (maybe bran muffins?) soon! Long live figs!!!

I came down with the sickness today and went to the store this afternoon to buy Gatorade, Ginger Ale, multi-grain saltines, and clam chowder in the can. Things I usually never eat on a regular basis, but it's great to trust your bodies' intuition and listen to what it needs/craves/wants.

I wonder--why does Ginger Ale taste so damn good when you're sick?!

Right before I saw this post, I did exactly that while cutting up a butternut squash! I feel like I passed the test!

Tons of veggies to make vegetable paninis--eggplant, summer squash, onions, and portabello mushrooms. Grilling everything that I could grill outside as well like fish kabobs, burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheeses, anything and EVERYTHING!
