The red stand looks like the Pyramid nightstand from Pier 1. It had wicker inlays on the drawers and was shaped exactly like that. They retailed for about $125 when I worked there; should be pretty reasonable nowadays if someone catches one on CL.

I worked for a nation-wide home decor retailer for six years. I have a hard time stifling giggles when I see one of the wicker settees we sold for $200 being touted as "antique" and marked up to twice the price. Ditto the "artifact" decor we sold.

I don't say anything, though. I mean, if the vendor can get that price, good on 'em.

When the Gentleman and I work a booth at a craft fair or flea market (he makes robot sculptures out of found objects), we get a lot of "You want HOW MUCH for this? I could make that myself" comments.

We always want to reply, "Then feel free to go home and do so."

Wait wait wait...you have guests who bring their pets over? Sorry, but in my opinion it's your guests who owe YOU an apology; not the other way around. I would never impose upon a friend or family member to accommodate my pet, much less if it were a pet-free home.
