So here's what I do. I don't use the olive oil, and I only really have a regular frying pan. So without anything I begin to heat my frying pan and throw the steak in. Depending on how well I want it changes how high or low I set the heating to. Generally a high start is excellent to get that charred taste around the edges but doesn't make a well done steak. It takes about 5-10 minutes and I come out with my favourite steak.
